Hidden languages require you to abandon the default assumptions of society
1. Mae West in Murano
|
Glass hides invisible meanings. Behind the enflated volumes of Murano glasses lives an entire collection of unspoken symbols, which are interconnected through logical relations. Choosing a set of these relations, one could form a theoretical model describing the entire life stories of every single inhabitant of Murano. Popular stories seem to have gathered from only one of these models, because they all have identical repetitive characteristics. Instead, other models are possible, other languages can be created out of the same symbols. The necessary precondition is to abandon the default assumptions of today society, as well as prejudice, racism, and all the knowledge about religion one might have. The novice may better understand the syntax of these unknown languages through the work of Candye Kane, whose image directly represents the holistic approach behind the creation of these languages. |
