Obama, why Lynn? What does he have that noone else has?

I don’t understand why it was so necessary to hire lobbyist William Lynn and violate the ethics code created less than a week ago. Wasn’t it just easier to hire a “clean” guy and avoid all that recusal bullshit? I don’t get it.

Nuclear warheads in Italy and Europe: just give the word!

Want some WMD? No need to go to Iraq, just travel across Europe. All safe, ready and made in USA.

“[The] February 2005 NRDC paper pieces together evidence from an array of sources to show that the United States is still deploying 480 nuclear weapons in Europe. Until now, most observers believed there were no more than half that many still left on the continent.”

Aviano base, Italy: 50 B61 nuclear bombs.
Ghedi Torre, Italy: 40 B61 nuclear bombs.

Europe WMD map: http://www.abolition2000europe.org/map/

A great wealth of updated information is here:
http://www.nukestrat.com/us/afn/nato.htm

Some older stats:
“Today, there are fewer than 180 US nuclear bombs in Europe. (1998)” [link1]

“The United States now retains approximately 1,100 nonstrategic nuclear weapons, with a few hundred deployed with aircraft in Europe and the remaining stored in the United States.”
“Unclassified reports indicate that, of this number, fewer than 500 were air-delivered bombs deployed at bases in Europe” (2004) [link2]

The B61-5 is a lightweight (350kg), low drag/parachute-retarded variable yield (10-500kT) tactical thermonuclear weapon.

That equals an average of 500 a day. Study by John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. (links: BBC Washington Post)

CNN tried to smear it, and eventually had to back off:

Loose Change

“Loose Change” is probably the best documentary about the 9/11 mistery: watch it online (google video) or buy it from the makers.

Detailed evidence is provided at the website. In addition, I’m linking here some additional press articles cited by the movie (link).

Neil Young… what a Man right there

Neil Young is 61. He just made a record, “Living With War”, that has more angst, freshness, beauty, strength and significance than a lot, I mean a lot of stuff you listened to in the last 10 years. I swear. Physical age is meaningless. It’s just amazing, it has to be listened. Jim Gilliam hosts a MP3 of Restless Consumer (lyrics), but everyone can listen to the entire album online. This is no Metallica sleazy sake of profit. This is a honest, true Man doing its job, protesting, screaming as we all should, saying how shitty is the world we live in. Inviting us to unite and do something about it.

Edit:
“Living with War” is even available in vynil form!.

About Jeff

The Italian website contains all the info about the white phosphor inquiry. There’s also a link to Jeff Englehardt’s blog. Democracy Now! also has a very intersting interview with him, Lieutenant Colonel Steve Boylan (spokesperson for the U.S. military in Iraq), and Maurizio Torrealta, producer of the italian show. I watched the movie “I Heart Huckabees”, Jeff seems a guy who has opened his eyes.
